Suaedang House is a private house built in 1939 and named after the owner Suae Ryu Jingeul, who was an independent movement activist and has been abducted to North Korea.
It is total 3 buildings with 29 rooms, the top of the ceiling is built with Paljakjibung(Korean traditional half-hipped roof) shape, front seven rooms and side two rooms, and Gobangchae is Hapgakjibung(a gable roof) shaped ceiling with 10 rooms in “ㄱ” shape. The front door is Soteuldaemun(a tall gate) shape of as big as five rooms size.
It was designated as Gyeongsangbuk-do Cultural Heritage Material No. 56 on August 5th of 1985, categorized as Samyojaesil.
This house is built with Chunyang Pine Tree and well preserved to have a good condition, and it has the specific pattern of the door frame, overall well represents the architectural style of the late Joseon dynasty.
